MacAdams Open Day 2013

From the 17th to 19th of July 2013 we joined exhibitors and visitors from across the country at the MacAdams Open Day at the MacAdams Business Park in Blackheath, Cape Town. The whole warehouse was transformed into a wonderful combination of bakery equipment, interesting products and displays of delicious confectionary.

Other than maybe eating a little too much cake, the event was certainly a huge success and we certainly hope to be part of this expo again in the future.

Green Technology for better efficiency 2013

Growing demands and industry challenges have led industry experts to design a new, greener alternative to traditional combustion systems, which is not only exponentially cheaper but with a much smaller impact on the environment. Wood pellet burners and boilers have already been used internationally for a number of years, but South Africa is quickly catching up.

Combustion Technology is currently one of the few companies in South Africa to follow in the footsteps (or, smaller carbon footprint) of industry leaders in this field. We are excited to be part of this growing industry in South Africa and are quickly busy expanding our product range to meet the demands of this increasing market. SAEE Conference 2013

On the 16th of May Combustion Technology joined the SAEE for their Energy Efficiency conference in the Eastern Cape. The Southern African Association for Energy Efficiency (SAEE) has 10 years of successful information dissemination, awareness creation, and energy engineering training in the industry, and the exhibition featured knowledgeable speakers to facilitate the finding of solutions to energy efficiency challenges within the region.

Delegates received updated information from key role players in the Energy Industry including Eskom, the Department of Economic Development, Local municipality & Industry, National Cleaner production Centre, SANEDI, AIDC and the SAEE board on the importance of Energy Management, the latest on measurement and verification (M&V) and the Income-tax regulation, the stance and opportunities of the local electrical supply in the region and nationally, financing of projects and how the various incentives compare, to name a few.
